look what I found: This is my favorit exhibition in Berlin, right now. It's exactly "my topic": [German] landscape, in this case even more specifically: the theme of the forest, and the more than 80 contributing photographers were all hand-picked by a very dedicated team of young artists: Michael Biedowicz, Daniel Hahn, Isabelle Köhncke,Bernhard Moosbauer, Mirjam Siefert, Pamela Spitz and Andreas Wolf (in order of appearance on their own website). I'd really love to contribute, some day! They did a great invitation card with silver heat embossing and a nice poster design as well. The way they put up the pictures was really thoughtful in that it was quite precise on a second glance, because first it seemed too crowded and full, but then a kind of mesh or interconnection became visible for most of the pictures. Go see for yourselves, I'm absolutely positive the next expo will be just as fine as the one still going on right now. If you want to see the forest pictures, you have to hurry: its only on for another 2 days!

Claire Morgan is the one of my two new favorite british Morgans
Polly Morgan is the other one. Both young artists work with a combination of natural materials, such as preserved specimens and parts of daily life, like phones, strawberries and strings. To me they both seem to understand so much about the hidden beauty and magical fragility of animals and living things. Setting them in context to themes like modernism, design and daily life adds to their work-pieces a whole new layer of beauty and an appreciation of our otherwise unrecognized surroundings.

Lars Ruppel's Video "Phoetry" is one of the pieces I like best, as it verbalizes the non-verbal poetic qualities of photography in a very 'smaat' way. And it's also set in a cool location, btw. So watch and enjoy!

Interview with Annette Schröter who's pieces I was able to admire at the Kunstverein Marburg a while ago. I really loved her papercutter work, as it mixes such a square german housewife technique with modern (sub)cultural influences.
